What a birthday decoration in Pune actually costs

Almost all of the price is balloon count and wall area. A single feature wall with a curtain backdrop, around 80 to 120 balloons and a foil name sits at the bottom of the range. A 150 to 200 balloon arch with a layered backdrop, number foils, fairy lights and floor work sits in the middle. Ceiling clouds, flower panels and anything that needs a frame built on site sits at the top.

Two things that never change the price: which part of Pune you are in, and how long the decorator takes. Travel anywhere inside our 30 km radius is included, and a setup is priced as a finished job rather than by the hour.

Choosing a setup for the age

The age decides the shape of the decoration more than the theme does.

• First birthday: one photo wall, a large number one, the child's name in foil, and a cake table. Pastels or a single gentle theme photograph better in a flat than a busy printed backdrop.
• Two to ten: this is where themes earn their money — jungle, unicorn, dinosaur, space, a specific cartoon. Build the theme into the props, not just the backdrop sheet.
• Teens: black and gold, neon, or a photo wall with a light-up number. Teenagers photograph the wall and nothing else, so put the budget there.
• Eighteenth, twenty-first and twenty-fifth: a milestone number is the decoration. A large foil or light-up number against a balloon wall carries the whole room.
• Fiftieth and sixtieth: calmer palettes, flowers mixed with balloons, and a photo line of the years. These are usually family gatherings in the hall rather than a single photo corner.

Where the decorator sets up in your home

Pick the wall people will stand in front of, and decorate that. One finished wall photographs better than four half-decorated ones and costs less. In most Pune flats that is the hall wall behind the sofa, or the wall the cake table goes against. Bedrooms work for surprises because the door closes; entrances work for welcome-home moments; terraces and balconies work in the cooler months, with weighted bases rather than light stands.

Clear about two metres of that wall before the slot starts and decide where the cake table goes. The backdrop is centred on it, and a decorator who has to move your furniture first loses fifteen minutes of your two hours.

Flats, bungalows, clubhouses and offices

Most of our work is in flats, and most Pune societies want a gate pass for a service visit. Leave the society name and flat number in the booking note and we clear security without calling you down. Older buildings in Kothrud, Camp and Aundh often have lifts too small for an assembled frame, so the decorator builds the backdrop inside the flat instead. Township clubhouses in Magarpatta, Amanora and Hadapsar frequently ban tape and nails on their walls — tell us and we switch to free-standing frames at the same price.

How long it takes, and how late you can book

A birthday setup takes between 45 minutes and two hours depending on the package, and it always finishes inside the 2-hour slot you chose. There are seven slots a day, from 9 to 11 in the morning through to 9 to 11 at night. Two days ahead is comfortable for any setup in the catalogue; one day ahead is fine for most; and same-day slots stay open until three hours before they start, with less choice the later it gets.

For a midnight birthday, book the 9 to 11 pm slot and keep the person in another room. Balloon work is not quiet, so decorating while someone sleeps does not work — decorate early and reveal at twelve.

What is included, and what we do not do

Materials, travel and the decorator's work are in the price you see. There is no delivery fee, no labour charge and no per-hour billing, and the amount we confirm on the call is the amount you pay. Add-ons — extra balloon packs, fairy lights, photo clips, cake tables — are optional and priced on the setup's own page before you book.

We do not use helium or any gas-filled balloons, for fire safety. Air-filled balloons on frames and curtains do everything a helium setup does indoors, and they hold their shape all evening instead of sinking after a few hours. Removal is not included, but the fixings are low-tack tape and removable hooks, so the setup comes off a painted wall without marks whenever you are ready.
